I had a conversation today that reminded me of a serious topic, and I thought to myself, "I should blog about this!"
Yeah. No frickin' clue what it was.
And now it's 12:38 am, and I'm blogging because I said I would, and watching Ridiculousness (secret guilty pleasure), and I have a whole lot of nothing to say. So let's talk about genital warts!
(I really am the queen of the segue, aren't I?)
Have you all vaccinated your kids against HPV? If so, were you aware of/unconcerned about the reports of terrible side effects from the vaccine? If you did not, is that why not? Or did you have some other reasons?
My kids are just at the ages where I have to start thinking about this, and I am very much on the fence. I have heard horror stories, but admittedly not from reputable sources. On the other hand, the woman who developed the vaccine herself says she doesn't recommend it be mandatory, and of course the manufacturers are going to say it's safe. And I don't trust the gov't particularly, given their track record on assuring us things are safe that later turn out to be the worst things ever (hello, Thalidomide?) So, yeah.
Input?
Anyway, that's what I'm thinking about tonight as I prepare to drift off to sleep. Truly, I lead a life of wild depravity, you know?
